From Lateef Dada Osogbo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has said former national party scribe, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Senator Babajide Omoworare, and other prominent leaders from Ile-Ife have pledged to work to defeat the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, in the 2026 election.

He stated this during a youth engagement programme at the APC state secretariat in Osogbo, yesterday.

Speaking through his deputy, Kayode Adereti, he said the party had put strategies in place to secure a ‘resounding victory’ at the poll. He urged youths across the state to mobilise and actively participate in ending what he described as deceptive governance by Adeleke’s administration.

The APC candidate urged the youths to remain peaceful and to come out in large numbers to vote during the election, adding that the APC was committed to returning the state to its pride through transparent and accountable leadership and sustainable development.

“Our youths should maintain peace across the state and come out en masse to exercise their rights dutifully to vote for us as the best candidate for Osun governorship seat. Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji is ready to lead our state back to the state of pride among the comity of states.

“In Ife land, APC stands strong. The unity of purpose to defeat the incumbent governor is in place. All the leaders of the APC are in unison to ensure victory, right across the federal constituency, with our leaders from Senator Iyiola Omisore, Senator Omoworare, former deputy governor, Sooko Adeleke Adewoyin and other leaders across Ife South, East and Central,” he added.

At the event, the APC Zonal Youth Leader, Adesuyi Daramola, urged youths to begin intensive door-to-door mobilisation for Oyebamiji ahead of the 2026 election and for President Bola Tinubu in 2027, stating that victory for the party was certain.

Convener of the youth stakeholder meeting, Olayioye Alabi, said youths remain a power house of the party and should, therefore, be fully involved in preparations for the coming polls, adding that more youths would be mobilised to ensure APC wins in Osun.
