Labour Party (LP) chieftain and 2023 Lagos gubernatorial candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of manipulating the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to undermine the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 elections.

Rhodes-Vivour made the claim on Politics Today, stating that the APC is deliberately acting to weaken opposition parties, ensuring the ADC is unable to produce its presidential candidate.

“The ruling party is using INEC to mess up the chances of the ADC to make sure we cannot produce our candidate,” he said, highlighting concerns over the impartiality of the electoral process.

He also added that President Tinubu can not be victorious in the coming 2027 elections at all levels.

“There’s no pathway for President Tinubu to emerge victorious at the state and the national levels.”

The allegation came after Wednesday’s protest at the INEC headquarters in Abuja organised by ADC members and supporters, who called on the commission to respect the party’s internal leadership and allow it to field a presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.
