Nigeria’s wellness industry is growing but remains largely unstructured, undervalued, and fragmented. For Tolu Eletu, Founder and Wellness Director of Neubelle Med and Wellness Centre, that gap represents both a challenge and an opportunity.
“My dream is for the Nigerian wellness industry to become a respected, credible, and proudly acknowledged profession,” she says. “I want the day to come when you can say, ‘I am a wellness practitioner,’ and Nigeria responds with respect because they understand the value of your work.”

That vision is beginning to take shape through the Wellness Impact Forum, a platform launched by Eletu to address one of the industry’s most pressing needs: structure.
Held in Lagos on December 4,2025 , the inaugural Forum convened fifty carefully selected wellness entrepreneurs under the theme “Empowering Nigeria’s Wellness Future: From Passion to Sustainable Enterprise.” But beyond its title, the Forum signaled a shift in tone from passion-led practice to enterprise-driven thinking.

Bringing together respected voices such as Joycee Awosika, Dr. Hilda Titiloye, Bunmi George and Layo Ogunbanwo the gathering focused on the fundamentals often missing in emerging wellness markets: operational discipline, brand positioning, professionalism, and the rising expectations of a more informed, quality-conscious consumer.

The conversations were matched with action. Seven participants received targeted development support, including funding, executive coaching, and professional equipment practical tools aimed at accelerating business readiness and long-term viability. But for Eletu, convening conversations is only part of the equation.
On March 8 , 2026, Neubelle translated these ideas into practice through an intimate International Women’s Day experience themed “Give to Gain.” Designed for a select group of women, the session featured guided yoga, steam therapy, and a deliberately curated environment centered on restoration and intentional care.

More than a commemorative event, it functioned as a proof of concept demonstrating what a structured, premium, and thoughtfully delivered wellness experience can look like in the Nigerian context.
This dual approach combining industry-level dialogue with real-world execution positions Neubelle at the intersection of thought leadership and service delivery. It is a model that not only advocates for higher standards but actively embodies them.

As global demand for wellness continues to rise, markets like Nigeria present significant untapped potential. However, as Eletu’s work suggests, growth alone is not enough. Without structure, standardisation, and credibility, the industry risks remaining informal and undervalued.
Through the Wellness Impact Forum and initiatives like “Give to Gain,” Eletu is making a case for a different future one where wellness in Nigeria is not just popular, but professionalised, scalable, and globally competitive.
