The managing Director of Everyday Food Group Supermarket, Abak Road located opposite Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat, Uyo popularly known as EFG MART, Mrs Nneka Magnus Okezie has made a passionate appeal to Akwa Ibom State government to grant them a tax rebate for some years to them break even, in view of the harsh economic reality in the state and country.
She made the request at the opening ceremony held over the week, attended by who is who from all walks of life and from far and near within and outside Akwa Ibom State. Among the throngs included government functionaries, political class, clergy, laity and even the lowly of the society.
Welcoming the invitees, she explained, “we decided to bring EFG MART to avail residents of Abak Road and its environ opportunity to purchase original goods at affordable prices that can’t be gotten anywhere else.”
She thanked all the invitees who attended the event, both in persons and representative capacity, including the sitting Governor, Pastor Umo Eno and the past governors of the state for making the state conducive for both indigenes and non indigenes to engage in legitimate businesses.
Also, members of the public got a pat on their backs for always patronizing subsidiaries of the group, including the popular Tantalizer Fast food parlour.
The event was open to all as the management group didn’t impose any restriction for entry but opened their arms very wide to embrace everyone, both the desirable and undesirable in the spirit of a good corporate citizenship.
The government functionaries were led by Akwa Ibom State secretary to the state government, Prince Enobong Uwah who cut the tape to declare the facility open.
The Abak Road branch sales outlet of EFG, a subsidiary of Tantalizer Fast food is the second in Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom State, with the first locating along Nwaniba Road, Uyo as already aforementioned.
Highlights of the event were cutting of celebration cake and sharing of loaves of bread that go for nothing less than N1800.00 free to as many as possible.
