In 1995, Pastor Samson Ayorinde, the General Overseer and Founder of the World Evangelism Bible Incorporated Church (WEBIC), gathered a small group of like-minded individuals in his small bedroom in Ojota, Lagos to worship and pray.

Little did they know that the small gathering was like a mustard seed that would eventually become the foundation of a global ministry that would make a profound impact on the Pentecostal world.
In 2025, the WEBIC has rolled out the drums to celebrate 30 years of spreading the gospel and touching lives around the world.
Ayorinde, a former architecture student at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, in Kaduna State, received the divine call to ministry during his university days.
Despite the skepticism of many, he answered the call, leaving behind the security of a white-collar job to spread the gospel.
But WEBIC’s journey has not been without its challenges. In the early days, the church faced significant obstacles, including insecurity and ritual practices in the Ojota area.
However, Ayorinde’s faith and perseverance enabled the church to overcome the challenges and grow into a global phenomenon. Today, WEBIC has branches across the world and a reputation for soul-winning and discipleship.
Ayorinde, at a press conference to commemorate the milestone, expressed his gratitude to God for the divine grace that has enabled the church to achieve its vision over the years.
“We are grateful to God for His faithfulness and provision. From a small group of believers in a bedroom to a global ministry, God’s grace has been sufficient,” he stated.
He recalled: “Ojota was a no-go area then. It was plagued by insecurity and ritual practices. But I knew I had a mandate from God, and I was determined to fulfil it.”
He added that with faith and perseverance, God began to work mightily. The small house fellowship grew, attracting like-minded individuals, who shared his vision for evangelism.
To commemorate the anniversary, WEBIC, he stated, has planned several activities, including two retreats for ministers and workers, a crusade, and a six-day programme tagged ‘Mantle 2025.’
The crusade, scheduled for November 28th, is expected to feature notable gospel artists “and will be a celebration of God’s faithfulness to the church over the years.”
According to Ayorinde, the church planned to rebrand the crusade to appeal to a wider audience, particularly the youth and adults.
He described the church’s theme for the celebration, “The Overcomers and the Rebranded Crusade,” as a reflection of its determination to overcome challenges and reach out to a wider audience.
“We believe it’s time to blend the crusade with gospel entertainment that will attract people from all walks of life. We want to reach out to the world and make Jesus Christ known to all. It is a reminder that the gospel of Jesus Christ is still the power of God unto salvation,” he stated.
Two top ministers of the church, General Evangelist Kunle Adeoye, and Resident Pastor, Harold Chinonyerem, were present at the media briefing.
Adeoye, a pioneer member of the church, spoke about the church’s commitment to evangelism.
“From village to village and nation to nation, we have been spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. We will continue to do so, even in the face of challenges and opposition,” he revealed.
Chinonyerem, on the other hand, outlined the plans for the upcoming Mantle 2025 programme.
“This programme will be a platform for us to showcase our appreciation to God for His faithfulness over the years. We have come a long way since 1995, and we are excited about what the future holds.”
The church also affirmed its commitment to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to all corners of the world, through its global outreach and soul-winning programmes.
