The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is set to unveil a digital platform for the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Alien Cards (CERPAC) on August 1, 2025.

The disclosure was made in a statement by the NIS spokesperson, Akinsola Akinlabi on Wednesday.

CERPAC is a residence permit issued to foreigners residing or employed in Nigeria as a proof of legal residence and identity for foreigners in the country.

According to Akinlabi, the initiative is part of the federal government’s reform agenda to improve transparency, efficiency and access to immigration services.

He stated that users can now apply for CERPAC online through the new platform, available at https://cerpac.immigration.gov.ng.

The Spokesperson noted that filling of physical forms for CERPAC application will be extinct by next month.

“With effect from August 1, physical CERPAC forms will no longer be accepted.

“All CERPAC applications after July 31 must be submitted solely through the online portal,” he said.

Akinlabi stressed that the transition to digital method is intended to simplify the application process for individuals and companies taking immigration responsibility for expatriates.

He advised those who have paid but are yet to submit their forms to do so before July 31 to avoid losing their application status and payment.

“Similarly, individuals and companies with pending submissions are strongly encouraged to complete all processes within the stipulated timeline to avoid any inconvenience.

“Any form not submitted before the deadline will be rendered void and invalid,” he stated.

Akinlabi urged all users to channel their enquiries related to the change to the service through the office of the public relations officer.

He further reaffirmed the NIS commitment to an improved, tech-driven immigration service in line with global best practices.
