Barcelona fell to a 4-1 defeat to Sevilla at the Sánchez Pizjuán, ending their unbeaten run in La Liga this season.

Former Barcelona winger, Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring for Sevilla before Isaac Romero doubled the lead in the 37th minute.

On-loan forward, Marcus Rashford pulled one back for Hansi Flick’s side on the nick of halftime.

Robert Lewandowski flunked a 76th-minute penalty that could have restored parity.

Two added-time goals from José Ángel Carmona and Nigerian striker, Akor Adams sealed an emphatic victory for Sevilla.

Speaking after the game, Barcelona manager, Flick said mistakes were made but added that the loss came with a lot of positive lessons.

The German tactician said, “We have to accept this defeat and look at the positive side.

“In the first half we made a lot of mistakes, but in the second half we were able to react.”

Flick added, “The international break this October will do us good.

“When the players come back from their national teams, we’ll work hard to help them regain their best form.”
