Former Bournemouth player Jordan Chiedozie is in a coma following a severe car accident. The 30-year-old, son of former Tottenham winger John Okechukwu Chiedozie, currently plays for Bashley FC in the Southern League. The incident occurred while he was returning from a match at Tavistock with club physio Reighan Taylor.

Their vehicle suffered a flat tire on the M27, prompting them to pull over. While Chiedozie was checking the issue, he was struck by another car and sustained severe injuries, leading to his hospitalization.

Bashley FC confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement on Tuesday, describing Chiedozie’s injuries as “life-changing and potentially life-threatening.” The club also revealed that the driver responsible for the crash was arrested for alleged drink-driving and dangerous driving.

Although Taylor was not physically harmed, she suffered severe emotional trauma but managed to provide first aid to Chiedozie at the scene.

In response to the tragedy, Bashley FC applied to postpone their upcoming fixture against Thatcham Town, a request the Southern League has granted.

Chiedozie, who began his football journey in Bournemouth’s academy in 2007, has played for over 15 clubs throughout his career.

Bashley FC manager David Lewis expressed his shock, saying, *“Everyone at the club is devastated. Our thoughts are with Jordan, his family, and Reighan at this terrible time. His teammates are struggling emotionally, and football is the last thing on our minds.” The club assured it would continue supporting Chiedozie’s family as he fights for recovery.
