Apostle Femi Lazarus, senior pastor of Light Nation Church, and renowned singer Timi Dakolo have resolved their recent public disagreement concerning the financial expectations of gospel artists for church performances. The reconciliation occurred on Monday evening, following days of online exchanges sparked by Pastor Lazarus’s critique of gospel artists charging substantial fees for church ministrations.

The dispute began when Pastor Lazarus recounted an incident involving an unnamed gospel singer who allegedly demanded $10,000, along with first-class travel and accommodation, to perform at a church event. Timi Dakolo responded, defending the right of gospel artists to receive fair compensation for their services and highlighting the financial commitments they undertake.

In a conciliatory gesture, Pastor Lazarus shared a photograph featuring himself, Timi Dakolo, and Pastor Emmanuel Iren, indicating that they had amicably discussed and resolved their differences. He praised Dakolo as a “music legend” and acknowledged his genuine concern for the welfare of musicians. Pastor Lazarus emphasized the need for improved structures within the church to support creatives and expressed his affection, stating, “I love you.”

This resolution underscores a mutual understanding of the challenges faced by gospel artists and the necessity for churches to establish equitable frameworks that honor and compensate their contributions appropriately.
