In her last match at the Egypt Para-Badminton International 2025, Paralympic bronze medalist Eniola Bolaji earned a gold medal on Sunday. Bolaji won all of her prior matches in the Egypt-hosted competition to get this point.

Bolaji defeated Sweden’s Hillevi Salomonsson 2-0 (21-1, 21-2) in the women’s SL3 final on Sunday in Cairo, Egypt, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Throughout the competition, the African champion proved her abilities by defeating Shahinda Mohamed (21-7, 21-2).

With straight-set wins in previous rounds, she also defeated Elizabeth Puma (21-2, 21-4) and Basma Nabil-Fawzy (21-6, 21-4). Bolaji won in a resounding manner, continuing her incredible winning run with her 58th victory in 64 games and her 10th trophy in 10 competitions.

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) reports that Bolaji has participated in and won ten international competitions in the last two years. She is a formidable force in para-badminton because of this incredible accomplishment. She made Nigeria and Africa proud by breaking numerous records.

Bolaji’s accomplishment comes after her historic 2024 triumph in which she became the first African athlete to win a medal in badminton at the Paralympic Games.

According to NAN, the Egypt Para Badminton International 2025 concluded today, January 26, in Cairo, after beginning on January 21.
